Previous Repair Work Enabled Damage, Requiring Work Change Order

A hiccup discovery added more remedial work to the pool’s refurbishment, including a hidden leak that ruined a previous plaster repair. The discovery requires correction of the error but shouldn’t affect project timing.
Horizon Custom Pools discovered the leaks as workers shaved off old plaster and tile. Water had seeped in behind the old plaster and rusted out rebar reinforcement rods and destroying plaster. Horizon came highly recommended, and the company didn’t disappoint. It discovered previous gunite coverage was too thin, enabling the leaks and subsequent damage.
The HOA Board approved a change order to fix the damage and ensure the pool is refurbished correctly.
New gunite is expected to be applied the week of March 10. New cool decking will be coming, too. The gunite will be poured extra thick to ensure total coverage.
Once completed we will basically have a new pool that will be beautiful and functional for us all to enjoy in the years to come.
