Los Lagos Vistas is one of the original Lake Havasu City community developments, built in the early 1970s by Dell Trailor Construction of Phoenix. Trailor was a multi-unit development pioneer. Instrumental in Phoenix’s housing boom construction after World War II, he began focusing on luxury condominiums.
His concept fit well with Lake Havasu City founder Robert McCulloch’s vision for the area when the chainsaw tycoon began selling lots along the Colorado River in the 1960s.
Trailor turned “raw” land into a unique desert community with his progressive home designs, which sold at the time from $24,990 to $29,990.
Los Lagos Vistas is not part of nor connected to the Los Lagos condos north of the wash.
We're Part of a Vibrant History
When Parker Dam created a reservoir and 450 miles of blue-water shoreline in 1938, the massive lake and river complex has become a top international destination for boating, fishing, watersports, balloon festivals, and fun. And we live near the center of it all.
Chainsaw industrialist Robert McCulloch, looking for a place to test his new outboard motor products, began to civilize the area when he bought property on a peninsula – now the island connected by the original London Bridge – and began selling residential lots on a former military training site.
McCulloch flew in about 137,000 potential customers between 1963 and 1978 with his fleet of four used Lockheed Constellation propeller-driven airplanes.
They came from all over the U.S., especially the frigid northern regions, to buy up lots.
Lake Havasu now hosts major watersport, fishing, and motorsport events, plus golfing, biking, hiking, off-roading, and more.
In the winter, Arizona attracts more than 2 million winter visitors. Lake Havasu alone attracts more than 850,000 tourists annually.
